Should I rent a canoe or a kayak?
At Sierra Outdoor Center, we get asked this question a LOT !
In short, canoeing involves sitting or kneeling in an open boat using a paddle with one blade. Whereas in a kayak, you sit down with your legs in front of you, while propelling forward with a double bladed paddle.
Generally, a canoe is a better choice for two or more folks to travel on flat water with their camping/fishing gear and perhaps a pet.
Call us at (530) 885-1844 and our Team will help you decide.
All watercraft rentals include a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and a paddle.
Except for Wake-board rentals, of course. No paddle.
And, in the case of a River Board w/fins rental Sierra Outdoor Center will include a helmet, all of The Team’s experience and Best Wishes.
